225th University of Louisville anniversary mark

Elements from the Minerva were carefully distilled and reimagined to create the 225th anniversary mark. An adaptation of the original serif type used encompassing the Minerva helps balance heritage with contemporary clarity. The resulting mark preserves recognizable fragments of the Minerva while translating them into a cohesive, modern emblem that honors the history of the university.

The current version of the Minerva was designed by Victor Hammer and reworked in 1992 by Steven Skaggs, professor of graphic design.
